Chiney KiKi drops Jazz infused Reggae single “Show Me” – LISTEN

Actions speak louder than words and Chiney KiKi is here to remind us. Following the release of her recent EP ‘Emotions’, singer and songwriter Chiney KiKi serenades us with her brand-new single ‘Show Me’, set for release on Friday, July 24th, 2020.

The track opens with a thrilling, classical reggae beat, graced with melodic scat singing (using the voice as an instrument), capturing the singer’s authentic reggae and jazz-infused style. ‘Show Me’ is a musical love letter in which she expresses her need for acts of love rather than mere words. The song speaks to the concept of saying what you mean, with the actions to support it. “This song isn’t about doubting yourself or doubting that the person loves you, but rather making sure your efforts aren’t wasted,” the singer explained.

Chiney KiKi is no stranger to exploring and creating fascinating sounds. In fact, her jazz influence emerges from actual experience with playing the saxophone in jazz bands. This has aided in shaping her into the multidimensional artiste that she is today. “Most of my music is authentic reggae, however, I tap into jazz a lot, seeing that I was a jazz musician.” By no means does she want to be boxed into one category, as the multifaceted singer also infuses afro-beats and R&B into her music.

The artiste describes herself as a melting pot of feelings, genres and experiences. African influence from her Ghanaian father and Jamaican influence from her mother both contribute to the recipe of her eclectic artistic expression. “The most important thing for me is that people relate to my music. I want them to hear my music and know that I understand what they are going through.” Chiney KiKi continues to use different topics to spread encouragement and positivity through her art.
