Fast-rising Ghanaian Dancehall Singjay, Kahpun, who sacred a major collabo with popular Jamaican Reggae icon, Anthony B on “Jail Bird” song has thrown a big challenge to his fellow ‘Dancehaller’ Jupitar.
Kahpun – the Cape Coast based popular Dancehall genie says he is the best person to clash with Jupitar in the much publicized “Asaase Sound Clash” which listed Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to clash in a peaceful Dancehall confrontation to eliminate the global pandemic, corona virus. Asaase Radio 99.5fm, organizers of the event themed “#Clash2CrushCOVID” are very hopeful both Ghanaian Dancehall heavyweights – Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy – will use their clout to execute the campaign which has been endorsed by Ghana’s Health Ministry and Ghana Tourism Authority.
“Everybody is pointing who they want to clash. And I also want to clash him (Jupitar). If he can be bold calling out names he should be bold and face me too toe to toe on stage let’s bubble the Dancehall scene just like everyone wants to see it happen for our dancehall space here in Ghana”, Kahpun told Elorm BeenieWords in a phone interview on Sunday, August 9, 2020.
Kahpun in his ending comments called the bluff of Jupitar by saying, “he is on the internet doing Father and Son clash. I am not talking about Father and Son vibe. This is just and anyone can clash anybody so I am calling him out to also come and face me.”
Kahpun released a very steamy Dancehall cut, his very latest in July 2020 titled “Make Up”; he featured Stonebwoy on that hot jam and gained some prominence. The song is doing well with streams on Youtube and other platforms.
The announcement of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale as headliners for the project has got other Ghanaian Dancehall/Reggae artistes talking; the likes of Samini, Jupitar, Yogi Doggy (and now Kahpun). The fans and pundits have also held varied conversations on the topic on online platforms and the airways. Asaase Radio 99.5fm officially launched the project on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
“Jail Bird”, a project song by Anthony B featured Kahpun and CapoDon. The song’s in lieu with global conversations on corona virus and quarantine. You might want to watch that song video here too, courtesy Reggaeville.
