Theophilus Taylor, popularly known in Ghana music circles as Sean Taylor has officially dropped his very first EP titled “Osu Tape”.
The EP which holds 5 songs got released across digital platforms on Friday, January 29, 2021.
“Osu Tape” presents a very scarce side of Sean Taylor never witnessed before. This should be an ice breaker for him on his rebrand journey and come back after several months of hiatus.
“I’ve named it ‘Osu Tape’ because I want to project my identity as an African youth from Osu — a very vibrant suburb in the heart of Accra, Ghana’s very own capital city. It’s very much needed to highlight where I come from with my very first collective, the project features other talented artistes who hail from Osu or have a very strong connection to the suburb. This further explains why the songs in this body of work have a huge part of it in the native dialect of Osu which is the ‘Ga’ language; I featured it massively in all the songs listed for this EP”, Sean Taylor explains.
The EP features Vybez Flair and G. Money. Cuts across dancehall and afrobeats. This swift inclusion of afrobeats is a strategy to buy new market for the baritone Singjay while advancing to a higher height in his career. “Jamming”, “Nigeria Spirit”, “Momo” are some of the hot jams listed for it.
