It’s not my fault I look like KiDi, KD Bakes replies critics

This is the biggest awards scheme I’ve been nominated so far in my musical career. It only means that they are recognizing my work; that of my team and those who have contributed  to my development so far and I can only be grateful’ – KD Bakes told Mz Gee in an exclusive interview on TV3 New Day.

As part of the nominees of 3 Music Awards 21’ Next Rated Act for Volta Region, 2HypeGang Worldwide’s very own KD Bakes was invited into the studios of TV3 to shed more spotlight on his music experiences as an artist, registered nurse, expectation for the award, the line up of projects in stock for the fans / horde of music fanatics amidst other earthshaking issues.

He divulged his reason for fusing Ewe in his music. According to him, because he’s from the Volta Region Ewe is his mother tongue which he uses as his trademark to project his culture as Ghanaian.

In response to whether it doesn’t feel good to be a health worker with the numerous cases of corona popping out every blessed day. Bakes disclosed situations like this are part of what he signed up for as a registered nurse. It’s important to note he works in the emergency room.

Do you get people saying you look like KiDi? Mz Gee asked. I used to get that a lot and that was the reason my management decided I changed my looks with the braids, KD responded. He recalled sitting at a bar one day when some people mistook him to be KiDi. It’s not my fault I look like KiDi or we look like each other. I can’t beat myself up for that – he added in a calm tone.

Speaking of upcoming projects, he has a new song with Yaa Pono slated to be released tomorrow (20/2/2021) titled ‘Pami’. The song is tipped to be one of the major hits of the year. Anticipate for it.
