2019 presented a long list of artists who flabbergasted music enthusiasts with the kind of music they fed the masses with. But 2020 promises something beyond the accepted standard of doing things. So I decided to sieve out a selected few of acts who amassed much attention from the general public last year. These artists mean beyond the obvious.
Below are top 13 new Ghanaian acts to look out for in 2020 and why you should pay critical attention to them;
1. Lamisi
The value and volume of work she put into her debut album “BRIGHTER SIDE” is a clear indicator of what she aspires to be and do in the very near future. Even though she might not have played many “Popular” shows she was found on very prestigious stages eg. Stanbic Jazz festival, Ghana World music festival, African Legends Night, to mention a few.
Her music genre and style are more popular on the international music market, and thus she and her team are quietly pulling the right plugs, and its just a matter of time that all will be duly exposed. Her team plans of putting out some collaborations within this year which will surely see other artists camps gelling with her brand. Her upcoming projects and strategies tells a serious and vision focus attitude that if all goes well shall earn her a lot of corporate attention and deals.
2. Pam Official

Larruso flamed up to become a household name upon releasing his value trending street anthem “Killy Killy”. He went ahead to balloon the heads of music hounders with the remix when he featured multiple award winning act Stonebwoy and leader of the new skuul music Kwesi Arthur.
The lad has created style to his music coupled up with satisfactory stage performance. The kind of music he does feeds the street. He has won the heart of the street because he opens his arms to fans anytime any day. Every record he puts out is a potential banger, he keeps improving on his craft.
5. Pzee Fire
Inspired by Pan-Africanist Kwame Nkrumah, PzeeFire is an alternative rapper/singer from Nigeria who combines different genres of music with an authentic African vibe to produce his unique Afrofusion sound. Inspired by heartbreak, Bosom Pyung is now a hero at what he does. He became a social media sensation immediately after he was spotted performing “Ataa Adwoa” in a video. A tweet from African’s rap god Sarkodie went viral. Since then the young champ has become a news item. His creativity, style, brand and genre of music he does is second to none.
8. Quamina MP
Best known for his party banger “Amanfuor Girls”, It’s obvious that he has been able to entertain a lot of people with his music within this short period of breaking out. This is enough reason to expect more in the coming years. Listeners have experienced more of the “party” side of his music. Expect some romantic vibes from him.

9. Kenny Ice
He emerged as the “Artist Of The Year ” at Volta Music Awards 19. As a rapper/hiphop artiste, his originality is his trademark. By not following trends, he creates trends. He sounds like his original self and has created his own unique style, making his sound worth listening to. His music always carries a message. It’s either he’s showcasing his lyrical dexterity on a song or he’s touching on an important issues.
He stands to be the first hiphop artiste doing music with the very unpopular (adzah) language and still able to take it commercial. Hereby drawing a lot of attention to how unique our language sounds and making people love and accept it. As performer, when he mounts on stage, he serves the purpose and leave the masses asking for more. Together with his team, their working on bringing back his annual concert which started years back.
People have the notion that, artists are not sociable. This drives most fans and well wishers away so Keeny Ice has personally made it a point to break that notion by freely socializing and mingling devoid of the business.
10. Rowan
Rowan’s lyrical dexterity, songwriting skills and his ability to switch from his mother genre (reggae/dancehall) to other genres without stress makes him one of the best when it comes to melodies. He has powerful vocal ability and strength.

12. Kwame Dame
He was part of the selected few who made it to Sarkodie’s hip hop banger “Bibiba”. After getting the spotlight, he took up the mantle without slowing down. He tells stories through his music. Listening to his music comes wild pictures of what’s happening in his mind. The kind of music he does talks about reality. He opens up to the core whenever he voices on a record.
