Ghanaian Musician Yungtuff, Known in real life as Prince Israel Evortepe, has announced Saturday, 21st May 2022 as the release date for his new body of work in the form of an EP, Dubbed “Before My EP Drops”.
His debut project, “Before My EP Drops”, drops on the 21st of May. “Before My EP Drops” is a three-track Afro-House pack he hopes to use to draw the attention of the Afro-house Music Community.
Each song carries a special message: “Free Me” speaks about total liberation and freedom in a person’s life. “911” talks about falling hopelessly in love and “Egalava (Money Will Come)” carries a message of hope for a better tomorrow.
“My music reflects my reality, and I am able to relate more than any other genre even though I can do all other genres – Yungtuff mentioned that this Ep comes with all genres like afrobeat mixed with other types of genres which he named Afro-fusion.
He also contended that Afro-fusion music allows him to connect with his innermost self and gives him the ability to connect to people’s feelings and emotions through his lyrics.
According to Yungtuff, it is his time to own his space in the music industry because, for a young act, he is ready with an EP coming soon.
Known for his incredible songwriting skills and vocals, mixed with his attention to detail, appreciation for culture; blending old school highlife with new school Music and subtle contemporary Afro-fusion elements, Yungtuff, hints that “Before My EP Drops” is just an introduction to his main project coming up.
ABOUT YUNGTUFF
Born Prince Israel Evortepe, professionally known as Yungtuff, is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter who describes his music style as Afro-Fusion. He was born in the Abuja State (Suleja) of Nigeria on the 18th of March 1995 to a Ghanaian father and a Nigerian mother and is the oldest of two siblings.
Yungtuff attended 4 different schools before completing Anlo Senior High School in the year 2013.
His musical talent was discovered at a very young age by his late mum who encouraged him and his sister to sing at Gospel Music events held in church, back in Nigeria and in Ghana.
The response from his performances at church and support from his mum, triggered the idea to forget his childhood dream of being a pilot, to pursue music as a career.
8 years ago, Yungtuff really started to Identify his passion and began to show more attention to his newfound love -Music, despite always singing and performing at events of family and friends.
Professionally, Yungtuff has been making music for about 8 years. He cites Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, King Sunny Ade, Westlife, Lil Wayne, 2face, P Square, Chris brown, and Wizkid as some of his influences.
Yungtuff has extended his work beyond Ghana, working with both South African and American Music talents such as Main Source 403, Antonio Delvanni, and Soulo Sound. For him, having acts outside of the country work with him and push his sound to different audiences beyond Ghana is a huge achievement as an emerging artist.
