The London-based music production duo Raz Olsher and Ghanaian master percussionist and singer Afla Sackey will perform as headliners at Wah Wah Live in The Jago in East London on 26th May 2023 alongside Village Cuts DJ Set, Gideon Conn, Kymara, DJs Dom Servini & Chris Goss.
Wah Wah 45s returns to London clubland after a long break. The comeback is satisfying and a force to reckon with. On deck are some of London’s finest, redefined and groundbreaking live acts and DJs at their new home at The Jago in East London.
Raz & Afla Headlines ‘Wah Wah Live’ In London
Raz & Afla take over the stage at exactly 11:00 pm. As a duo, Raz & Afla take traditional African instruments like the djembe and kora and incorporate them with modern electronic elements, resulting in songs and sounds that are altogether refreshing, new, and exciting. In addition to celebrating African culture, their music demonstrates the power of networking, collaboration, and creativity.
Their ability to seamlessly blend different genres and styles, known as Afro House, is what makes them stand out. There are a variety of influences incorporated into Raz & Afla’s music, ranging from Afrobeat, Highlife, Jazz, Electronic beat, and Funk. This diversity is reflected in their live performances, which are energetic, dynamic, and always entertaining.
They’ll be performing songs from their critically acclaimed body of work ‘The Circle EP’, an 8-track Grammy standard project. Their sound production, songwriting skills, impressive vocals, cutting-edge storylines, deep lyrics with an eye for detail, and ability to create compelling stories that resonate with their listeners are all worthy of admiration and applause.
