Ghana born U.S based artist “Young H Rubberband” paid courtesy call to his homeland Ghana and shot visual for his a new hit AfroTrap Single “Living My Truth” which currently doing well on YouTube. The song titled “Living my truth “ is a nostalgic music video which was shot in Tamale – Ghana.
The inspiration behind this video was a message, homage to “always remember who you are and where you came from”. He states “The recording process of the song was very emotional”, it took a lot of self reflection and vulnerability to express how he felt about his past. After being in the United States (Brooklyn to be exact) for over 10 years, it’s safe to say for Young H Rubberband his two worlds collide.
From Ghana to the U.S. this emerging artist is willing to bridge the gap with his Afro trap genre. The video was shot and directed by @godsonobi. “Visiting Temale was a an amazing experience, it was the first time being there we took the trip there to get out of our comfort zone in Accra and to experience different parts of the country”.
Young H Rubberband has been making music for about 6 years now started making music after graduating high school. Young h Rubberband has his own label “Mild BOYZ” in which is under another label “DamuRecords” where he’s the Co-founder. DamuRecords consists of 4 artists, Fela D, JennahJuice, SlakaPat & Young H Rubberband.
As at now DamuRecords is an independent label & has no ties to any mojor labels. Young H Rubberband intends to connect Gh & U.S through his music by merging his roots and his knowledge acquired here as well.
