March 6 2020 marks the anniversary of the day that Ghana celebrated the end of colonial rule and went its own way in the world. As an independently-minded Ghanian artist, it stands to reason that the day would be of importance to Stonebwoy – real name Livingstone Etse Satekla – whose energetic blends of Afropop, reggae and dancehall have made him a star across the African continent and beyond.
Visuals For Good Morning
“Good morning”(first single off the Anloga Junction album) is the occasion for the artist to reflect on his success in the early morning: “Good morning to the Maker, you do me all this favor”. The track, on a Spanker production, features Dutch rapper Chivv, who has already appeared alongside singer King Promise in February.
The video, shot in a villa in Jamaica, shows Stonebwoy freestyling in front of a luxury car and floating over the remains of what looks like a fun night: Rasta man party! “African Party”, another track from the album, should be released tomorrow. The “Anloga Junction” album will be a tribute to Alakple, the artist’s hometown.
Visuals For African Party
It’s the inspiration to his new single “African Party”, a typically upbeat party jam produced by Ghana’s Streetbeatz that finds Stonebwoy rhyming in English, patois and twi. It’s released with a video which you can see exclusively above – as colourful as the track, it’s packed with party games, dance routines in heaving living rooms and African mothers in traditional dress.
According to the multiple award-winning Ghanaian artiste, “African Party (Second single off his fourth studio album) was made for everyone that came back to the Motherland in December for the year of the return. Full of vibes and positive energy – you can hear that in the song, and you can see a new side to Stonebwoy in the visuals.”
Anloga Junction is set to land on April 25th. You can pre-order it now here. Pre-order Link (https://kv-online-talent.lnk.to/SBGM). However, he’ll be touring the UK in May.
