The Beast: A silent conversation loudly captured in EP by Kush Keef

Silently but with melodies and well crafted songs, Kush Keef is gradually paving the way for himself as one of the newbie artistes off the Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall and Afropop turf with longevity. Unlike some who just want to be a ‘trending artiste’ or ride on the media waves to be popular, this Artiste is taking time to create meaningful music to earn himself a title as one of the best in his generation.

Kush Keef, an Accra-based singjay, has released his debut EP he titles “The Beast”, certainly a ‘beast’ nobody saw coming but will soon be a household name within the Ghanaian music space and beyond.

Track List:
1• “My Baby” — a swooning love song that can woo any girl with accompanying ensembles for a soothing feel. He introduces a sophisticated and fragile side of himself with this song as to how love could melt a young handsome guy like him.

2• “E Go Be” — a motivational piece that speaks to the streets and urges ghetto youths to stay hopeful on the grind.

3• “E Go Be Remix” ft. Ras Kuuku — to intensify the message in the original song, he features Ras Kuuku on this cut to create more influence and appeal with a bigger artiste. This strategy is not only to get the masses pay attention to this song but as well have more of the ghetto youths to pay attention to him with the inclusion of Ras Kuuku ‘aka’ Ghetto Youths President, who has already earned that slot with the streets. They actually filmed an official video for this song which stands a chance to enter big charts and award schemes.

4• “Shake” — the groove gets hyper with this one which creeps into the amapiano craze which has gone globally viral, stemming from South Africa as its origin. The mention of ‘amapiano’ in this song is a ploy he uses to buy that market which is currently huge across now. Anything amapiano thrives on every playlist so this song strategically puts him in that slot!

5• “Made It” — a dive back into the love story as he woos his lover again, literally. Like Track 1, he tones it down to make sure attention is paid to the song and the message penned in it for his lover in melodies.

6• “Sijibomi” — a song for the streets. ‘Badman Song’ as they would call it by the Dancehall Community. He had to do the is one to cover the market for the ‘g@ngsters’ as well. Not an uptempo song but a sparsely composed song for relaxation.

Ras Kuuku was the only featured Artiste on “The Beast” EP. Check Out biography of Kush Keef here to get to know more about him: https://linktr.ee/kushkeef
