Samini, Soweto Gospel Choir, readies new single “Chaana” for March 13th

Celebrated Ghanaian music icon Samini is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of his highly anticipated new single, ‘CHAANA’, featuring the globally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir. The song, which is scheduled for release on March 13, marks the first single off his forthcoming album, ‘ORIGIN8A’, set to drop later this year.

‘CHAANA’, which translates to ‘shine’, is a powerful Afro Pop anthem designed to uplift and inspire Africans, reminding them of their limitless potential and resilience. The song blends Samini’s signature style with rich African influences, incorporating the WALA dialect from Wa — the Upper West Region of Ghana, where Samini hails from and Swahili, as delivered by the Soweto Gospel Choir. This linguistic and cultural fusion creates a truly Pan-African sound that resonates with the spirit of unity and progress.

Produced by Francis Osei, ‘CHAANA’ boasts a vibrant, mid-tempo rhythm that perfectly complements its empowering message. The accompanying music video, directed by Yaw Skyface and shot in South Africa, visually brings the song’s essence to life, capturing breathtaking landscapes and symbolic imagery that reinforce the song’s theme of African excellence.

Samini’s decision to collaborate with the Soweto Gospel Choir reflects a deliberate effort to create a project that is deeply rooted in African heritage. As the first single from ‘ORIGIN8A’,

‘CHAANA’ sets the tone for an album that promises to be a celebration of African culture, music, and identity.

Fans and music lovers should stay tuned for the official release of ‘CHAANA’ across all digital streaming platforms. Get ready to shine with Samini!
