Apple Music drops new ‘Africa Now DJ Mix’ featuring DJ Hacord

Apple Music has announced Nigerian selector, DJ Hacord, as this month’s Africa Now DJ Mix.

“This Africa Now DJ Mix is a reflection of everything I truly love about the sound coming out of the African continent right now,” he tells Apple Music. “I selected tracks that blend Afrobeats, Amapiano and street pop, sounds that speak directly to the youth, the hustle, the vibe, and the joy we carry in our daily lives,” he adds.

After his “Wizkid x Davido Wayback Mix” became a viral sensation, DJ Hacord has exploded onto the scene, diligently refining his skills as both a selector and producer.

Born and raised in Ogun State, he draws on both the traditional sounds of his upbringing and new modern textures to imbue his mixes with a sense of deep cultural heritage, and the world loves it.

“I also wanted to shine a light on new and emerging artists like Fola, Zichy, Kunmie and Jaethevert, because each of them brings a distinctive sound that deserves to be heard,” he tells Apple Music.

“My goal was simple: to create something that makes people move and feel good, no matter where they are,” he adds.
