With her music career spanning just two years, Afrobeats singer Wendy Shay, real name Wendy Addo has done the impossible and rubes shoulders with the top stars of today.
Her music career attracted all the buzz weeks after she was unveiled and the “Stevie Wonder” hitmaker has not looked back since then.
But, all the success she enjoys at the moment wouldn’t have been achieved if she hadn’t met Bullet, her current manager and Boss of RuffTown Records.
According to Wendy Shay she didn’t see anyone with the talent and skill to run her brand better than Bullet.
“I told myself I wouldn’t do music, if Bullet had not managed me when I came back from Germany” she revealed.
Queen Shay as she’s affectionately called made this statement in an interview with Londona on Kingdom Plus’s Entertainment Arena, Saturday June 6, 2020.
“I chose to work with him (Bullet), because he was the only one who could manage me” she told the host.
Record labels play instrumental roles in the lives of our musicians, so it is in the right place for an artist of her status to recognize the efforts made by her label.
Speaking on the backlash she normally gets from the public concerning explicit lyrics in most of her songs, she quickly cleared the air “most of my songs are written in a way that gets people saying all sort of things but that’s up to them because music is all about wordplay and the how I understand things is not how people understand”.
Wendy Shay has cemented her spot in the music space by dropping back to back hits, which gets fans singing along and asking for more whenever she gets on stage to perform.
Wendy Shay also disclosed that her record label is in the final stages of finalizing an ambassadorial deal with a big brand but won’t talk much about it, till everything falls through.
