Female Musicians need more support from us — Producer JMJ

Producer JMJ is calling for more support for Ghanaian female musicians, not just the ones doing Dancehall or Reggae.

In a detailed phone conversation he had with Peace FM on Thursday, July 16, 2020, the award-winning Music Producer accentuated that the female talents in the game require extra effort, support and push to ‘match up’ their male counterparts on the Music scene.

“Gender struggle is not only in music; it’s a global problem where there is still imbalances with the females as against the males doing music. We need to give more energy to the female musicians in the game.”

He further explained that “Managing a female artiste is very difficult. The amount of energy and resources, let’s say 100% you would probably need about 300% of all energies, finances and resources combined to get results.”

Joshua Raphaelson (JMJ), was reported earlier this week to have said the female side of the (Dancehall) music scene was ‘dead’ and needs to be revived. He formerly was Kaakie’s Executive Producer and Co-Manager.
