Today, August 11, 2020 makes it exactly one week Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have officially agreed to champion a national cuase to fight the deadly corona virus (covid-19) with their clout using a fun-filled lyrical battle as an undertone. It was launched on the eve of Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
Both artistes with their fashion and style represented at the launch of the initiative powered by Asaase Radio 99.5fm. Ministry of Health and Ghana Tourism Authority were visible representations at the ceremony and pledged their support for the “#Clash2CrushCOVID”.
“Asaase Sound Clash” is an initiative to highlight campaign for anti-COVID, the global pandemic which has hit most countries across the world. The idea is to have both artistes — Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale — drive traffic with their respective mammoth fan base to crush corona virus hence the theme “#Clash2CrushCOVID”.

The “Asaase Sound Clash” is teasing a clash between two dancehall heavyweights in the world, drawing from their artistic prowess and musical talents to help raise awareness about COVID-19 and how we can in our part do to stop the spread.
They’re using the “Asaase Sound Clash” to send a message out there that, throughout the COVID period, a lot has happened but, bent on heels to continue promoting Ghanaian Music/Musicians to the world even in these tough times. The purpose is to crush COVID with this initiative.
Asaase Radio 99.5fm also believes that, using the clout and reach of the stars would extend further to a mammoth audience to spread the message.
“Entertainment-wise, not a lot has happened due to COVID, that notwithstanding we think we can bring cheer to the homes of many Ghanaians and develop the industry. The future of competition aims to secure a more prolific and recognized line-up of artists with support and partners across the nation” – Asaase Radio.
