The deep think behind the song is enlivening. The song is based on a conversation about the separation between a married couple. In their conversation it appeared, they were about to be apart from each other for the first time since they met.
Based on the fact that the lady was relocating to further her education, but the man couldn’t relocate with her due to work even though he so wished. They sparked a hypnotizing conversation on the flight from Copenhagen to Ghana last year. Their no-filter conversation in a not-so-private space caught the attention of the Ghanaian international Denmark based world music act Abudebi Zonjon who was also on board. This is where the story gets more exciting. How the couple related more like best friends than a couple was a feast to both the eyes and the ears. They had a fun way of expressing their emotions in a respectful yet playful manner.
Abudebi Zonjon saw this to be unusual. Immediately, he started writing the lyrics to the song and creating the melodies in his head. He also had a picture of the type of sound he wanted the song to reflect. In a nutshell, that’s how the song “I’ve Decided” came about. The title of the song came from the point when the lady asked his fiance “would you cheat on me while I’m away” and the guy answered “No please I’ve Decided I’ll wait”, cunningly and funnily. The guy then asked her back but “if I cheat on you what would happen?” And she answered with a smile “I’ll burn your house to ashes” and then they laughed about it.
As soon as he touched down in Ghana, he went straight to his producer, Beatz Dakay. And also hired two instrumentalists from the popular Ghanaian band Patch Bay Band to the studio to create the masterpiece you’re yet to enjoy on 25/11/21. He’s very particular about the sound because he wants the melody to reflect the conversation between this couple and the different types of emotions during the moment of listening pleasure cum experience.
