Adeline A.A. Kufuor, founder and CEO of the Women’s Empowerment and Investment Group (WEIG), has been nominated for the prestigious 40 under 40 awards in the category of Investments and Pensions.
Adeline, who co-founded WEIG to channel capital into high-potential small & medium scale enterprises has become a champion of women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship. In recent time’s through WEIG, Adeline has provided support to local dressmakers to produce over 500,000 PPE’s to minimise the impact of job and income loses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the Co-fonder of The Lotte Accra, with the mission to give African creatives a platform to showcase their works, Adeline curates high-quality African luxury & lifestyle goods in her African luxury concept store.
In 2020, she partnered with the African Fashion Foundation to launch the Kayayie Fashion Training Program which was set up to empower and equip young street females with skills and knowledge by pairing them up with great talents in the fashion accessory and garment industry.
Speaking about her nomination, Adeline noted that: “I am truly honoured to have been nominated for the 40 and 40 awards. It only provides me with more motivation to keep going and to keep working to support the plight of young female lead enterprises in Ghana.”
