Ahotor FM’s Academic Showdown gears up for exciting 2nd Round

Ahotor FM’s highly anticipated educational program, Academic Showdown, is set to kick off its second round on Saturday, September 28th, 2024. After an engaging first phase with 22 junior high schools, the competition moves to the next level, with excitement building among students, parents, and the public.

During the Social Friday edition of Adekye Mu Nsem, Quiz Master and Moderator, Sir Braveheart Asonkey Ramsel, commended Ahotor FM, the students, and parents for their unwavering support. He highlighted the significance of the program and called for even greater collaboration between stakeholders in education, particularly within the Tema West Municipal Education Directorate, alongside Ahotor FM.

Madam Agatha Essel, a mathematics expert and Technical Committee member, also praised the impact of Academic Showdown on teaching and learning in the municipality. Speaking to Nana Dogbe on the Social Friday program, she noted how the competition has revealed gaps in the educational system that the Directorate plans to address.

The top-performing school from the first round, Sakumono Complex 2 JHS, led the scoreboard with an impressive 57.3 points. The second round will now focus on core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and ICT, aiming to foster academic competitiveness and knowledge sharing.

Twelve schools from the Tema West Municipal Assembly will compete in this next phase, with the first matchup between Mexico JHS and Old Lashibi Junior High School.

Catch all the action on Saturday, September 28th, from 11 am to 12 pm on Ahotor FM 92.3, proudly supported by Sinomie Instant Noodles.
