Accra, Ghana — Ghanaian rapper and singer Amerado has once again showcased his versatility with the release of his highly anticipated highlife EP titled Defy All Odds, a five-track project that beautifully blends traditional Ghanaian rhythms with contemporary storytelling.
Known for his versatility, Amerado takes a refreshing turn on Defy All Odds, embracing the timeless charm of highlife to tell stories of love, envy, and perseverance. The EP opens with “It Takes Two”, produced by IzJoe Beatz, a heartfelt piece that explores love’s mutual nature — a reminder that it always takes two to make it work.
The second track, “Omama” produced by ItzCJ MadeIt, dives into the realities of success and the envy that often follows it, urging listeners to stay grounded despite external pressures. The fan-favorite “Obi Adi”, which was released earlier as a single, sits perfectly at the center of the project, setting the tone for Amerado’s authentic highlife direction.
The final two songs, “Cocoa Butter” and “Them Talk”, both produced by Shawerz Ebiem, deliver rich instrumentation and relatable messages, celebrating self-confidence and resilience in the face of gossip and criticism.
Speaking about the project, Amerado shared,
“This EP is personal to me. I wanted to show that no matter the odds, we can evolve, grow, and still stay true to our roots. Highlife is a part of who I am.”
“Defy All Odds” is a testament to Amerado’s artistic depth and commitment to pushing boundaries, proving that he’s not only one of Ghana’s finest rappers but also a dynamic musician capable of thriving across genres.
