Dancehall bandwagon, music technical coach and critique Mr. Logic is belligerent and has protested against the VGMA boards refusal to lift the ban off undoubtedly two of Ghana’s biggest music exports; Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. He shared his piece of mind on Dr. Cann’s show on Happy FM substantiating his claims that, the ban on Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy is a ploy to kill dancehall. Depriving them of their awards (plaques) following the fracas that occurred at VGMA 2019 which ended them in court paying a sum of Gh¢ 50.000 each with surety was enough to settle the score, he added.
In his view, the board is serving their own interest instead of the industry. He believes both superstars deserve every right to be part of this year’s award ceremony since it’s Ghana Music Awards but for the board to be stiff with their decision and water down the hard works of the two dancehall heavy weights without considering their contribution to the success of the scheme over the years is harsh and senseless. Though he condemned the halfwit conducts of the acts during last year’s VGMA’s, he also blamed the board since they organised it.
In conclusion, he called on pressure groups like FOCAP and others to initiate effective strategies to weed out distasteful issues affecting the growth of the creative industry and shame persons responsible for uncalled decisions.
