Grammy winning Jamaican Dancehall Singjay, Beenie Man, has paid a touching tribute to Bobby Digital, Legendary Jamaican Dancehall Producer who died passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 according to reports.
Bobby Digital, born Robert Dixon is a highly celebrated music record producer who rose to global fame in the 1990s and early 2000s. He has produced songs and albums for Grammy winning/nominated musicians like Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage, Beenie Man, Sizzla Kalonji, just to name a few.
Beenie Man (real name, Moses Anthony Davis), in an instagram live stream Dancehall Battle (known as “Clash”) on Verzuz TV (@VerzuzTV) began his set by paying homage to the renowned Producer of blessed memory.

Bobby Digital was best known for his “Don’t Haffi Dread” ground-breaking record he did for Morgan Heritage amongst others. He was given the ame “Bobby Digital” because King Jammy (another Legendary Producer), whom he worked with in the mid-1980s, had begun experimenting with the digital rhythms as early as those days where analogue productions was still rife in the Reggae/Dancehall business. Bobby Digital was a fine game changer in the space of digital production of Reggae and Dancehall music.
“Verzuz” is an online (Instagram) live stream platform for musicians across the world to engage their fans in a ‘harmless’ competition of playing/singing/toasting records from various hits they have produced in the past, courtesy American Producers, Timbaland & Swizz Beatz who championed the initiative. This new initiative sits in place of concerts for music lovers in the face of the deadly pandemic, Corona Virus (COVID-19) which has hit most countries across the world. Bounty Killer and Beenie Man however were the very first pair in the Reggae/Dancehall circles to get listed for the competition.
