The Ghanaian striker, Benjamin Tetteh, earns black stars after getting a redcard in the last Afcon game in Cameroun, which made him miss the two-leg world cup playoff against Nigeria.
Benjamin has been in impressive form this season, scoring seven goals with two assists, doubling his tally from last season.
The Black Stars will also participate in a four-country tournament with Japan, Chile, and Tunisia as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in November.
Captain Andre Ayew, who missed the World Cup playoffs with Nigeria, returned to the team after two games were suspended. Mubarak Wakaso, Jonathan Mensah, and Kamaldeen Sulemana will also return to the team. Since the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, the three players have not participated in the Black Star. Daniel Afrier Bernie of the Accra Hearts of Oak and Augustine Okrah of Bechem United have also joined the team. Ghana will meet Madagascar on Wednesday, June 1, and the Central African Republic four days later.
As the World Cup approaches, Otto Addo will compete in Japan’s four-country tournament as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup.
Tetteh’s call up means they have faith in him to replicate his form by helping the nation qualify for the next Afcon in 2023.
