Gone are the days when traditional media was the go-to platform for stakeholders in the entertainment industry. Now, the narrative has changed as bloggers are now at the helm of affairs when it comes to publicity and content creation.
Renowned Ghanaian blogger, OdarteyGH was the guest on the Black Magic show on Pluck Radio hosted by Eugene Osei, Smokey and Ohemaa Ekua. The topic for discussion for the day was “blogging and the role of bloggers in the entertainment industry.”
The host of the show Eugene Osei asked blogger OdarteyGH how serious the blogging profession and is and if it paying off. According to the OdarteyGH, ” Blogging is serious business as a matter of fact it has come to stay and it is the go-to media platform for Ghanaians and the world at large now. This shows how blogging has evolved and now a serious business where individuals earn a living out of it”
OdarteyGH, however, lamented on how some stakeholders treat bloggers as if they are uneducated and nobody in the industry. Meanwhile, they know the worth of bloggers if they want their content to go viral.
“Stakeholders must respect the bloggers and the profession, bloggers play a huge role in projecting the industry hence what is due as must be given and not treated as beggars or individuals chasing after money”
He however called on colleague bloggers to put value on their brands since that will go a long way to bring some respect to the blogging profession.
