Brazil 3-0 Ghana: Four things we learned

Richarlison scored twice as Brazil breezed past Ghana with a comfortable 3-0 victory in a friendly in Le Havre, France on Friday

Brazil’s first-half performance gave fans plenty of reason to be excited by a young team heading into the World Cup when they will bid for a record-extending sixth title.
They dominated Ghana from the start with an aggressive pressing game featuring attacking players Vinicius Jr., Raphinha, Richarlison and Neymar, who delivered two assists.
Marquinhos opened the scoring after nine minutes with a bullet header from a corner by Raphinha.
Richarlison extended the lead 19 minutes later with a pin-point first-time strike from the edge of the area into the bottom left corner.

Here are the 4 things we learned from the game

1. Starting Line-up of Ghana
A back three could have stabilized the defence force as the Brazillian’s attacking style was mainly targeted at the middle perspective which was evident in the plays of Neymar, Raphinha and Vinicius until the introduction of Mohammed Salisu. Speaking of Richarlison’s first goal where there was enough space between Alexander Djiku and Daniel Amartey.

2. Lack of quality
Quality was a clear exposure on the side of Ghana today – hardly to hold in possession for a minute in the first half and playing without coordination from all areas of the pitch.
From defence to the attack – but much improvement was noticed in the second half – where Inaki Williams brought in some experience in the attacking force of the team and Mohammed Salisu in defence.

3. Set pieces
Out of the three goals scored, two came from set-pieces – something Coach Otto Addo will need to work on ahead of the big occasion [the 2022 FIFA World Cup].

4. High Intensity Even tho Otto Addo admitted of getting the starting line up wrong, some players were off pace in the game due to the high intensity rate. There were only three players in the starting lineup who matched up to that intensity. Iddrisu Baba, Kudus Mohammed and Kamaldeen Sulemana. The team got more stable after more European top five league players started coming off the bench this should tell you that the favoritism must stop.

Ghana take on Nicaragua 27th of this month as part of the preparations to the World Cup.
