Burniton Music Group (BMG) – the official Powerhouse for Nickelodeon & BET Winner| 3-Time Best Reggae/Dancehall Act in Africa, Stonebwoy, have stated emphatically that, they are in no way associated with the alleged scuffle that apparently occurred at an event in Ashaiman between Kelvin Brown and a group of persons, including an individual who is being held out by the media as Stonebwoy’s bodyguard.
The talent management hub’s attention had been drawn to a series of tweets issued earlier from the twitter account of Kelvin Brown under the username (@kelvynboymusic_), who was previously under their label, imputing criminal conduct which are very scandalous, and calculated to cause disaffection against Livingstone Etse Satekla (Stonebwoy), the President and Chief Executive Officer of their organisation, and his brand.
In these series of tweets, Kelvin Brown insinuates, and by use of innuendo, alleges that Stonebwoy is responsible for the scuffle that apparently occurred at an event in Ashaiman in the midday of June 22, 2020.
In a news release from the talent management hub stated that, it is for these reasons that they are issuing this statement to set the records straight and correct any erroneous impression that may be created in the minds of the discerning public as a result of these tweets and media reports. For the avoidance of doubt, the firm stated clearly that they are in no way associated with the alleged scuffle.
It added that, none of the individuals who are alleged to have been involved in the alleged actions have been and/or are in, the employ of Stonebwoy, explaining that, their attention and energies are focused on shaping Ghana’s sonic landscape through Anloga Junction, Stonebwoy’s recently released studio album which is receiving critical acclaim and global recognition, to suggest that they will divert their attention from their efforts to promote Ghanaian music to devote time and/or energy to an artiste who was voluntarily released from their organisation can only be the product of an exaggerated sense of seif-importance.
The organisation stated that, these spurious allegations are very damning and are causing considerable harm to their brand and their legitimate business interests. As such, they have instructed their lawyers to take the appropriate steps to vindicate the legal rights of Stonebwoy and the brand of their organisation.
While the legal processes follow their course, Burniton Music Group entreated the general public to treat these baseless allegations with the contempt that they deserve, as they are, and shail continue to be law-abiding persons dedicated to entertaining Ghanaians through their music, BHIM merchandise and the charity works of their Livingstone Foundation.
