CASTING THE STONE!
Many a time, it feels so easy to cast the stone.
It feels so easy to judge in the comfort of our homes.
Should we scour the whole face of the earth and cross all barriers of time to search through all the years of human history, in search of a righteous man, we should find none except for the Man Christ Jesus; but that notwithstanding, we aspire to live by His good precepts and virtues.
Only “Jah” alone is a Christian, this was coined by Culture, a reggae artist of blessed memory, and I believe his assertion is true to some extent, considering how we portray Christianity, yet we’re ever ready to castigate our brethren when life hits them so hard.
Joyce Blessing, the “unbreakable” hitmaker had been under the spotlight for negative reasons, with a video purposely circulated to shame her.
This is really heartbreaking, truth be told.
And when you relate the whole situation to that of Osinache Nwachukwu, the “akueme” hit maker of blessed memory, one can easily tell that you must probably die before you get support for going through emotional trauma.
Should it be the case?
How long can we go to ensure that someone is “broken into pieces?
Can’t we cover people up, if it’s got nothing to do with murder, or stealing?
Some people commit suicide over depression, some others receive various degrees of hurt and heartache, with wounds that do not get healed at all, but of course, we all join in a “pity party” to show our condolences.
We do so when they’re no more.
So why can’t we stand with people going through a trauma of some sort, whiles they’re alive?
Marriage is a complicated endeavour, with varying situations in various households.
In light of this, perhaps we need to consider a little restraint with our judgemental instincts.
Must she be broken because she said: “she’s unbreakable?”
She can’t be right at all times, but she also doesn’t deserve to be hated, scorned, and rebuked in that moment of distress, folks.
We’re in an era of vengeance, maligning, pulling her/him down syndrome, all in a bid to appear right in the face of the general public?
But I believe righteousness goes beyond self-praise, and eye-service; it’s more about how we relate with one another.
Bible admonishes us to judge less, and possibly be at peace with all men.
God is the ultimate judge, for our righteousness is like a filthy rag before Him, the scriptures proclaim.
Food for thought!
Still Unbreakable!
