Kumawood actress, Charlotte Acheampong, known in the showbiz scene as Mama Gee, has announced that plans are far advanced for the launch of a Charlotte Acheampong Foundation soon.
The aim of the foundation is to support the underprivileged in society and also assist some selected needy institutions in the country.
The foundation is also structured to cater to the needs of the physically challenged, as well as orphans by providing free basic education, healthcare, and other social interventions.
Charlotte Acheampong Foundation will soon collaborate with the health ministry to organize an outreach free health screening and health talk program across the country dubbed “How Well Are You”.
Charlotte Acheampong, the founder of the foundation disclosed that “The collaboration between the health ministry and the foundation in the coming months is going to target major markets and malls across the country” so that people who patronize these facilities will benefit from the free health screening.
She, therefore, called on institutions, corporate bodies and individuals to come on board to ensure that health delivery actually gets to the people who need it most.
Speaking in an interview, she said, in a developing country where poverty abounds, it would not be out of place for the well-to-do to contribute meaningfully to programs designed to improve the living conditions of the less privileged.
“It is our collective responsibility to ensure that those who do not have are sheltered, fed, and also given a meaning to live”, she said.
She, however, promised to get her colleague actors on board for the successful execution of the project.
