KMJ, Host of “Showbiz Now” on Joy Prime TV has written a long. Though he mention no names, the ‘subs’ in the post could be likened to shots thrown at a fellow media colleague who was captured in a circulated video on social media ‘forcing’ an artiste to answer questions based on some evidence he (the radio host) picked. The artiste declined to comment on the issue but the presenter wouldn’t let go. KMJ who thinks it’s unfair had this ‘long one’ to write after a recent interview with Addi Self, ‘former’ SM Militant who has gone solo. Below is the full text of what KMJ wrote (unedited);
Before coming on the show, he said ‘bro make we focus on my new music and solo career and leave what’s happening out’.
I said, ‘oh bro that’s not even my reason for getting you in for the interview’. We both laughed, made some few jokes out of the situation and the interview begun.
He didn’t want to comment on anything Shatta Wale but after the whole interview was done he has answered every single question about Shatta Wale, Militant and his solo career, consciously or unconsciously. He even agreed to speak to his other Militant member Nattylee to speak to me live on phone during the interview. Kudos to my producer Barbie Derbie for that one.
I will say it again and again, the agenda of pushing people and ‘forcing’ them to say what they don’t want to say is not a determining factor for who a good journalist is. That’s for trends and usually it comes with bitterness and ends relationships.
If you want every guest you interview to give you what you want, make them feel at home, smile and play with them around your line of questioning. Make them genuinely feel you care about them. Don’t fake it!
They will give you what you want!
PS: Please check his new music titled ‘How Many Times’. It a beautiful piece with a great music video too.
