Young Ghanaian Artiste, Figi has release his first body of work called Black and White. The title of the tape is derived from his passion towards black and white unity devoid of all discrimination in all aspects of life. It has always been his wish to see all race unite as one and share a common vision towards global development.This is evident in his lyrics on most of the tracks on the Tape.Figi also known as Sylvester Amo-Quarm is a trader and a network marketer who hails from Tarkwa but currently based in Accra. Figi has been working professionally as an artist since 2016 and has been releasing singles. His decision to release an EP came up after coming in contact with industry people who encouraged him.
Figi stated that it’s was difficult combining work and music so it took a lot of effort and sacrifices in making this project a success, He had to go through thin and thick to invest a lot of time,money, energy into turning this vision into reality. He had to overcome his greatest challenge and fears to birth what’s inside of him.
The EP has six classic songs with following titles respectively; Shulele , Lifestyle ,Yawa God Dey , Show Me Love Remix , Sika and Odo bi y3 wu. The EP was produced by Klasickbeatz and TeeBlayz . He got most themes from Love experience, life and money. Figi chose Show me Love remix as his personal favorite off the tape because it’s touches on a certain time of his life where it almost felt like he was in a movie.
The Black and White EP focused mainly on sampling unique Afro sounds to create the songs and they all lean towards Afrobeats with unique vibes and great melodies. He sings differently about love, trust, money, and many other life experiences. You can listen to his music when you’re happy and Sad and lacking motivation.Figi is currently Not signed and is working independently to get his music across.
Figi ‘s life as an artist is influenced by Shatta Wale and Tupac who he holds highly in his heart. He said “ it was Shatta Wale who taught him to be bold and courageous towards his goal. He also looks up to Tupac a lot as his words “You can do it in your language “ stick with him for years and they have become his affirmation.
