Stir It Up (Remix), a legendary record by Reggae idols Bob Marley and The Wailers featuring Sarkodie has been a controversial subject upon its release. Both traditional media and new media critics have shared a series of opinions and analyzed the record per their ideology but that of Ghanaian Radio Presenter come musician – Blakk Rasta happens to be below the belt and seen as bitterness in the public sight.
Regarding Blakk Rasta’s bitter submission and other critics who termed Sarkodie not worthy of the feature because he is a rapper – instigated Fresh Meddo, an Us-based Sierra Leonean Afropop artist to call unto rappers to rise and defend Sarkodie.
Blakk Rasta’s submission while on live radio :
“What Sarkodie did was a desecration of the legacy of Bob Marley, it is so shameful!! It is like a king has been buried, you dig him out, steal his gold and diamond he’s been buried with, urinate right in the grave, and walk away laughing like a mad man on heat. Managers of the estate of Bob Marley did a poor job by selecting Sarkodie to feature on the ‘Stir It Up’ track”
Fresh Meddo‘s sentiment shared via his Instagram story addressed his displeasure of how Africa’s rap icon, Sarkodie was dragged in the mud for collaborating with Bob Marley instead of holding it in high esteem since its legendary status chalk.
“Chale my pipo I just dey wake up to this video, what is black Rasta saying??? He’s sounding like a pin in the ass over Marley featuring sark huh! This is very worrying to the music gem sark. I feel his colleague musicians especially rappers should rise n defend dis horrific comments from Black Rasta “ – Fresh Meddo
