Ga Mantse, Nii Teiko Tsuru II, supports MUSIGA Golden Jubilee Celebrations

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has honored a significant milestone by formally inviting the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Nii Teiko Tsuru II, to serve as a chief patron of the Union and also support its Golden Jubilee celebrations. This historic courtesy call marks a meaningful partnership between Ghana’s traditional leadership and its vibrant music industry.

 

During the meeting, the Ga Mantse who is also the President of the Ga Traditional Council acknowledged the critical influence of musicians in shaping national identity and culture. He urged all Ghanaian musicians to be mindful of their lyrics and the powerful role their art plays in national development. Stressing responsibility, Nii Teiko Tsuru II called on MUSIGA to lead efforts in cultivating and advancing the Ghanaian music industry, ensuring it continues to thrive and contribute positively to the country’s socio-economic progress.

MUSIGA President Bessa Simons expressed profound gratitude for the Ga Mantse’s warm reception and wise counsel. He pledged the Union’s unwavering commitment to diligence and excellence in fostering the growth of the music sector, recognizing the vital role of music as a tool for development and unity in Ghana. He stated, “We are deeply honored by the Ga Mantse’s trust and support. MUSIGA remains committed to nurturing our artists and the industry, ensuring our music not only entertains but also inspires positive change and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Ghana.”

 

This collaboration underlines MUSIGA’s dedication to not only celebrating its fifty years of achievements but also positioning Ghanaian music as a cornerstone of cultural pride and national development.

Present at the meeting which took place at the Ga Mantse’spalace were Nii Adotey Otintor II, paramount chief of Sempeand Mankralo of the Ga State, Nii Ayikai II, paramount chief of Akanmandzen, and Nii Duodu Nsaki II, paramount chief of Otublohum. Also present were Nii Ahene Nuunu, paramount chief of Abola and Atofotse of the Ga State and Nuumo AkwaaMensa II, Wulomo of the Ga State. The MUSIGA was accompanied by the 2nd Vice President Abena Ruthy, National Organizer Chizzy Wailer, Administrator Vida Ofosua KwartengAsante, and Director of Special Projects and Communications Ahuma Bosco Ocansey.
