There is case of Joseph between Ghana Football Association and Tema Youth Sporting Club at CAS in Switzerland. With what the head coach of the black-stars said, is it because of the case cause I still don’t get it.
Kindly read below!
Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars:
“Joseph [Painstil] is doing very well. It would have been good for him to play the Japan and Chile games to show more of himself but he had problems and decided to leave the team,” he noted. Also, he wanted to start with his team [Genk], this one I can Inderstand. Surely I can just judge what I see. At the moment, I see others ahead of him but I think Joseph is a good player. He’s not with the squad now, it doesn’t mean everything is gone.”
I may have been fortunate to understand and seen legal documents of both the GFA and Tema Youth saga on Joseph but that doesn’t stop a player in top to represent his country. A player who got contract extension just some few days ago is ahead of other players in terms of what? It’s been a while Ghana had these talents in form for a World Cup and I think players should be called on merit and stats rather than people’s favorite. I have seen people displeasure on why he was omitted from the friendly games this month and there is absolutely o reason than that of what I mentioned about.
Let’s check stats with him and other wingers in the black-stars camp to prove my point.
Joseph Paintsil has 4 goals and one assist in 8 matches this season.
He didn’t play the last game before the international break due to a muscle injury with takes some 4-5 days or 14 days to recover but my checks prove he was even not called up before the injury which I think it’s uncalled for.
If you look at the wingers called up to the senior national team, it’s only Osman Bukari who comes close with 4 goals in 9 matches.

Do you think Otto Addo is giving a good reason for me calling Joseph Paintsil
