Ghana Tourism Authority and Beyond The Return Secretariat must be actively involved in Events in Ghana this December – FOCAP

Ghana Tourism Authority as a Government Agency is Responsible for how the world sees Ghana in terms of Tourism and therefore it was welcoming news for them to adopt all the Major Events Happening in Ghana during the Yuletide to the extent of having the Beyond the Return Office to supervise and manage all these events.

With this Preamble it’s just right to put the Praise or Blame at the door steps of GTA & Beyond the Return Office with regards to Events Happening especially in December.

If we don’t make institutions and Agencies Responsible for their Poor Performance we’ll only be allowing room for Poorer Performances.

As far as FOCAP is Concerned, Beyond the Return Office and GTA must know and understand that they have a major role to play when it comes to events in Ghana and it is not enough for them to only provide their Logos and go to sleep.

Surprisingly these Government agencies either do little or nothing in terms of sponsorship yet their names and logos are all over these Events.

The recent Live Hub Stadium event which saw Millions of investment go down the drain is a typical example of why the GTA as a Government institution needs to play a major role in making sure these events are successful.

The worry is that if these Event Houses keep losing their Investments they’ll have no option than to fold up which will go a long way to affect the Creative industry and the Creative Economy since we even need more Investors than losing some. When an Event flops it goes against Brand Ghana and to start the December with a Flopped show does not speak well for the subsequent events.

FOCAP, will also plead with event organizers to consider the economic climate of the country when pricing their events and provide more security at events.

FOCAP is seeking from GTA and Beyond The Return secretariat, a lot more responsible leadership and support for event organizers during this yuletide season.

There are over 60 Events yet to happen of which they’re partners / collaborators and we as FOCAP expect GTA and office of Beyond The Return to play a significant role in them.

The cycle is to support the event organizer to do better and well patronized events, GRA gets more tax revenue and investment into the development of tourism increases.
