Ghanaian churches are in competition against each other even more than politicians – Obiba Sly Collins

Veteran Ghanaian Highlife Singer, Obiba Sly Collins, has been on the road last week pushing his new song “One Day”.
Honouring interviews as part of media engagements, he had a very deep conversation with Kwame Insaidoo on Uniiq 95.7fm on Friday, June 12, 2020. A lot of insightful words came out of that session and got many listeners calling into the programme to applaud his line of thoughts.
Without mincing words, Obiba Sly Collins expantiated the purpose of his song which featured Gospel Singer, Mawunya and International Flutist, Dela Botri.

Obiba who seriously thinks Ghanaians especially politicians are sleeping on the country’s potentials gave some very revealing talks that crept into other related topics including the abysmal Ghanaian behaviour linked you unfair treatment of fellow Ghanaians among themselves and unnecessary competition, all in the name of greed and selfishness.
“The greed among mankind has made it that we are behaving like crabs against each other here. And it seems it’s an African behaviour and mentality. Even the churches in Ghana now are in competition with each other trying to prove things to each other; they are even doing worse than politicians with unnecessary completion and neglecting citizens and their needs”, says Obiba.
He further went on to say add that, “ it’s the same in the music space too. Even people we have helped or one person will help one to reach the top and once they become superstars they forget about you so it’s difficult for us musicians to support ourselves sincerely too. Let’s change our mentality and attitude towards each other”.
Official video for the song “One Day” is due to hit the TV screens this week.
