Ghana’s Jamin beats hopes to take Afropop globally

Jamin Beats is no doubt making a name for himself by going his own way; standing at the forefront of a new generation looking to take Ghanaian music onto the globe.

” My parents are straight and well respected people in Ghana, so they really didn’t support the idea of me doing music. You know African parents, they wanted me to focus fully on my tertiary education.

“At a point of time they saw that this is what I really wanted to do, so they gave me their full support and blessings. Funny thing is they listen to all my music and dance to it.” Jamin said.

Born in Accra, Ghana as Francis Odartey Lamptey, the afro pop singer and producer relocated to the United States of America in 2014 and signed to the record label JamCity and ShellShock Records, US based labels.

His 2016 single “Me Twi” was a success and kept people on the dancing toes after his debut ‘Cities Tour’ dubbed ‘Jamin,Accra Made Jersey’ in July 2016.

He recently won ‘Uncovered Artist of the Year’ at the Ghana Music Awards United States edition.
