Meeting Don Jazzy has and will always be a spiritual growth for effervescent Nigerian songwriter and singer Hadiza Bleloll-Olo famously known as Di Ja. Before joining Mavin, she musically found herself in a very devastating and distasteful situation where she lost a huge deal with a label in the States.

Be it as it may, the situation was a blessing in disguise. Circumstances around her ordeal became an eyeopener for her. This awakened her to return home, Africa. Though it wasn’t easy to finally conclude on coming back home, she did make a move. Somewhere along the line, she met her manager who later introduced her to Baby Fresh, an in-house producer for Don Jazzy. Fast-forward a meeting was scheduled for Di Ja to meet Baby Fresh at Don Jazzy’s end.

During a recording session in the studio, Don Jazzy surprisingly walked in. The shock of seeing Jazzy unexpectedly almost caused her to pee on herself but she comported herself. That was just by the way. After meeting Jazzy for the first time, the rest was history.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Coffee Break With Harold during her media tour in Ghana, Di registered the fact that Don Jazzy gives his artists a platform in Africa with international standards. It’s also important to note that settling under Don Jazzy’s watch secured Di’ Ja’s place in the music scene. In fact, he brought out the best in her. Her labelmates were equally welcoming, which helped shape her craft, level up her pen game, and writing style.
