Junior Maestro — the Ghanaian International Jock, based in Norway says he was very glad to have met Reggae Legend, Joseph Hill, popularly known as “Culture”, before he passed on.
As the Reggae world reflects on the Music Legend cum Activist, on his 14th year commemoration on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, Selecta Maestro takes a sober reflection on the good times shared with Joseph Hill way back in the year 2005.
Speaking with Elorm Beenie who writes for BeenieWords.com (a popular Ghanaian Music/Arts Blog), Junior Maestro says he feels very honoured to have met him one time during concert backstage. In Selecta Maestro’s own words, he says, I met him “in Oslo (Norway), he came to perform and I had the opportunity to link with him back stage. Even had a good chat with his wife, told her she looked Ghanaian and she was well chuffed. The good thing with him is that he traveled with his wife. No nonsense there. One of his best friends is a Ghanaian reggae artiste based in Norway“.
These were some few words he had to share in a video as he pays homage to the Reggae Legend.
Junior Maestro is a seasoned international jock who has been in the frontline for Reggae and Dancehall Culture and promotions in Europe since the early 1990s when he moved from Ghana to Norway.
Joseph Hill died in August 2006 while on tour in Europe. Reports say he passed out on stage and was later confirmed dead.
