The Rastafari Council, Ghana and the Rastafari Continental Council express unwavering solidarity with the people and leadership of the Alliance of Sahel States. At this critical juncture, the demonstrations of support for President Ibrahim Traoré – spanning Africa, Europe, the Americas, and beyond – must be understood as urgent and necessary acts of continental consciousness. These mobilizations represent a resounding endorsement of the Alliance of Sahel States as uncompromising formations that channel the sovereign will of the African and Black world.
The Alliance’s bold and progressive steps to nationalize the extractive industries, revive agricultural systems, and assert political autonomy reflect a clear and determined effort to reconfigure power relations on the continent. While these policies may unsettle global hegemonic interests, they pose no threat to African peoples. On the contrary, they embody the desire of millions to overturn exploitative arrangements and secure a future based on justice, dignity, and African terms.

Rather than coercing these states to return to the compromised fold of ECOWAS, the rest of Africa must rally in principled support. We call for meaningful political and economic partnerships with the Alliance of Sahel States, including immediate and unrestricted access to our ports. This is not just a matter of policy – it is a recognition of shared historical struggle and ancestral bonds that bind the Sahel to the broader African Family.
We reject any attempt to impose a savior complex or foreign tutelage over these sovereign peoples. The Alliance is a people-led transnational force, refusing to be boxed in by the artificial boundaries imposed by colonialism. The leadership of Presidents Abdourahamane Tchiani in Niger, Assimi Goïta in Mali, and Ibrahim Traoré in Burkina Faso, arises from a synergy with their people – a deep resonance with the spirit of African resistance, resilience, and regeneration.

This statement is offered in profound solidarity with the peoples of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, and all Africans committed to charting a new, liberated course.
Africa Forever!
Signed,
Ahuma Bosco Ocansey (President)
