My culture is my heritage!
I am a proud Ghanaian!
An African icon!
A daughter of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah!
A daughter of Ako Adjei!
A daughter of J.B Danquah!
A daughter of Obetsebi Lamptey!
A daughter of Ofori Ata!
A daughter of Paa Grant!
A daughter of Tetteh Quarshie!
A daughter of Yaa Asantewa!
I’d rather remember and celebrate these and other illustrious sons and daughters of my land, than celebrate some strangers I do not really know!
That gives me a sense of independence!
Oh yes, oh yes!
“A nation who loses sight of recognizing her Heroes is not worth dying for,” they say.
Beat the drums!
Blow the whistles!
Call all far and near!
My motherland attained independence six scores plus ago!
It has never been an easy road, but with relentless effort and unity as our hallmark, we gained ground as a sovereign nation.
The beacon of Africa!
The Black Star!
A land of peace!
A land of hospitality!
Let’s remember this, with a patriotic garment and mindset; even as we receive back our composure from the clutches of partisan politics!
Be real, be a Ghanaian!
Let your light shine and give a rationale behind our independence, a true definition!
Definition?
yes, definition.
Contribute your quota, in whichever small way; to make our independence worthwhile!
I am proud Ga-Dangme!
But I have my lineage from Ashanti, Bono, Fante, Volta, Northern Ghana, and all other tribes within the rich boundaries of my motherland.
It doesn’t matter what traits my fellow citizens in high places will portray, I am still a proud Ghanaian.
With one accord and conscious reasoning, of course, our star will shine again.
God bless our homeland Ghana!
Happy Independence Anniversary fellow Ghanaian.
