Ghanaian Afro-Dancehall artist, Derick Oboubie Jnr., popularly known as J.Derobie picks up the award for “Dancehall Song Of The Year” at the 2020 edition of 3Music Awards which took place on Saturday, May 02, 2020 at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair. The award ceremony was held virtually due to the novel Coronavirus.
The fast rising Dancehall act won “Dancehall Song Of The Year” award with his smash hit single “Poverty” which was his debut into the Ghanaian musical scene.
J.Derobie who emerged in the year 2019 with his hit single “Poverty” which also got Jamaican Dancehall Star, Popcaan on the remix has worked so hard to protect in the public the Reggae/Dancehall musical genre. With influence from the sub-Saharan culture, J.Derobie is able to own this musical genre and perform it effortlessly.
He is currently out with a new single “Back It”, a dancehall song off his forthcoming debut album, “A King Is Born”
