In our world, if musical talents go on occupational breaks, the stereotyped norm of them phasing out of their career race surfaces. Not to ignore the fact that there is any element of truth in their generalization, I caught up with Volta Region’s celebrated Afrobeats and Hip Life Singer, Kasare, with conversations on his career and what to expect after his official break on his silence.
Born Kwawuvi Joshua Elorm but known in show business as Kasare is a Ghanaian Afrobeats and Hip Life artiste who hails from the Volta Region. With diverse prospects, Kasare has firmly defended originating sounds from Ghana with influences from other parts of Africa.
In a conversation between Kasare, he reveals to us the creative process behind his upcoming release featuring award winning Ghanaian High Life artiste, Fameye and also the inspiration behind the song “My Time” which is scheduled to be released on Friday, 18th September, 2020.

Check out interview below;
Hello Kasare, how are you feeling today?
Kasare: I am doing just fine and I feel blessed to be alive.
What musical genre would you classify yourself under?
Kasare: I am a Singer, basically I do Hiplife, Highlife and Afrobeats. I identify more as a Hip Life artiste because of my origin thus Ghana.
Has coronavirus impacted on your music creation?
Kasare: Yes, definitely. Have been more indoors trying to keep safe. Writing more songs which wasn’t my usual creative process but this pandemic has helped me in writing my songs well and making sure I put in a lot energy and sanity to disseminate my message to my listeners.
What message are you putting out as an artiste?
Kasare: As an artiste, I think there is a lot to say but currently I believe with time and determination, all we work towards will be achieved.
Tell us about your upcoming release with Fameye?
Kasare: “My Time” is a high life song which talks about the importance of time in achieving your dreams. People from all walks of life need, time to fully identify themselves and also exploit their abilities to the fullest. Grateful to have my brother, Fameye on this record, he has been supportive right from the start of the project and I appreciate the love he has shown me. “My Time” will be released on Friday, 18th September, 2020 under Cool Sounds.
Can you take us through your creative process of creating “My Time”?
Kasare: Yes, why not. It happened one Sunday afternoon in a hall. “My Time” wasn’t planned, we were actually recording some other song and then the music producer, Nexux Beatz paused to play some other beats he created already. I fell in love with one particular beat, the chorus came to me naturally, recorded my part and my team at Cool Sounds linked with Fameye to get him on the song. Fameye recorded his part and ShottohBlinqx did the Mixing and Mastering.
What inspired you to create “My Time”?
Kasare: Thought of the pressure on the youths to make it in a haste without going through the process. “My Time” is to give them hope that time will surely pay them efficiently. The tendency to touch lives with my music knowing that people connect with me because of our shared experience.
Which artiste are you currently listening to?
Kasare: I listen to R2Bees, Kelvyn Boy, King Promise and Darkovibes.
What is next after “My Time”?
Kasare: I got lot of good music coming out soon, I know the world awaits Kasare.
“My Time” by Kasare featuring Fameye will be available on your favourite music portals and digital platforms on September 18.
