Astute broadcaster Abeiku Santana has showered praises on award-winning artiste Bisa Kdei for his enormous impact on modern Highlife musicians.
Abeiku Santana highlighted Bisa Kdei’s impactful role in the Highlife circles during Bisa Kdei’s recent music tour where he is promoting his new song ‘Boso.’ The song which is currently making waves nationwide brings to life the authentic vibes of Ghanaian Highlife music.
In a recent interview on Okay FM’s “Ekwanso Dwoodwoo” show, Abeiku Santana made a startling revelation about the influential role Bisa Kdei has played in shaping the modern highlife music scene in Ghana.
According to Abeiku Santana, Bisa Kdei’s contribution to the genre has paved the way for contemporary musicians like King Promise, Kofi Kinaata, Kuami Eugene, and King Paluta to embrace and popularize highlife music. During the interview, Abeiku Santana emphasized that Bisa Kdei’s impact on the highlife genre is a significant achievement that should not be overlooked.
According to Abeiku Santana, Bisa Kdei with his unique blend of rhythms and lyrics, created a refreshing and appetizing approach to highlife that can relate with the younger generation of artists.
“Bisa Kdei deserves huge credit for what he has done for highlife music in Ghana. He managed to set a trend that has been followed by many of today’s popular musicians including King Promise and Kuami Eugene,” Abeiku Santana stated.
“Unlike the era of Ofori Amponsah and others, Bisa Kdei brought a new vibe to highlife that has been embraced by the likes of Kofi Kinaata, King Paluta, etc.”
Abeiku further explained that Bisa Kdei’s ability to modernize highlife without losing its essence has also made the genre more appealing to both local and international audiences. This, Abeiku Santana believes, is a testament to Bisa Kdei’s talent and vision as an artiste.
“Bisa Kdei made highlife relevant again, and that is no small feat. He created a path for others to follow, and that is something we should all celebrate,” Abeiku Santana added. Bisa Kdei, who is known for hit songs like “Mansa,” “Brother Brother,” and “Asew,” has indeed been a trailblazer in the Ghanaian music industry.
His contributions have not only revived highlife music but have also inspired a new generation of musicians to explore and innovate within the genre.
