A lot of music is produced everyday but only a few musicians are able to pen down lyrics which forms a complete picture of how beautiful music should sound and feel like.
One person who blends words together to make a cocktail of creativity is Nii Lante Okunka Blankson, known by the stage moniker Knii Lante.
‘Zinga Doc’ as he’s affectionately called has hoisted the flag of Ghana beyond the clouds and he keeps shining with his craftsmanship. Knii Lante is an instrumentalist who plays piano and guitar and mostly sings in the Reggae and Afropop genre of music.
His his music career lifted off when he featured on Blakk Rasta’s “Barack Obama” song as well as “Ngozi” by the late highlife singer Michael Dwamena which won an award for collaboration of the year at the Ghana Music Awards in 2007/2008.
He has two studio albums out. “Love & Revolution” released in 2012 and “True Feelings” in 2014. His second album was released at the famous Redbones Blue Cafe in Kingston, Jamaica.
Knii Lante has collaborated with major musical icons across the world. Queen Ifrica, G Blunt, Cherine Anderson, Dean Fraser and Mikie Bennet are some of the talents he has collaborated with over the years.
He has performed at Felabration organised at The Shrine and at Freedom Park Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria as well as Rebel Salute in Kingston, Jamaica. He also performed at Jazz Festival in Ghana.
As recognition for his works, Knii Lante who doubles as a Physician was awarded as Best Male Vocalists at Ghana Music Award 2011, Best Music Video of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2014 and Best Male Vocalist at the 2017 Bass Awards respectively.
Knii Lante keeps adding to his tall list of songs. “Humanity”, “I Just Want To”, “Yawa Dey”, “Fantastic” are new songs from him this year. To celebrate the Independence of Nigeria, Knii Lante dropped a song titled “Ghana Naija” to commemorate the day and spread harmony between the two West African power houses.

Other mainstream artistes of great repute he has worked with are Kaakie, Kofi Kinaata, Teephlow, (just to name a few), who have all won multiple awards under Vodafone GHANA Music Awards (VGMAs).
