The Teshie Gbuglah Obahiaa Mantse (Youth Chief), Nii Martey Laryea I, has called on all stakeholders to focus on the development of the youth, who he describes as the group of people who hold the future fortunes of the country.
He indicated that, the youth of every country plays a great role in nation building and has the power to help a country develop and move towards progress. It is also the responsibility of the youth to bring social reform within the country.
“The youth of a country determines the future of a nation and it is for this reason I am calling on all well-meaning Ghanaians to create the needed environment and opportunity for the youth to build a bright future for themselves to be able to positively impact the society.”
He added that “young people need to get a good education in order to become better citizens for tomorrow. They need to learn skills to do the job that their country’s economy needs in addition to stimulating a conversation on bringing solutions to the challenges the country faces”.
Nii Martey Laryea I made the call on Thursday 3rd February 2022 in Teshie, Accra at the launch event of activities to mark the first anniversary celebration of his enstoolment as the Oblahiaa Mantse (Youth Chief) of Teshie Gugblah.
The theme for the one – week celebration is “Building Our Community and Our People”. Some of the activities includes the registration of 2000 people onto the National Health Insurance Scheme, a Grand Durbar and Football competition.
