CEO of 3 Media Networks, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has come out to vehemently lash out at critics of the Kumerican trend likening them to ‘babies with sharp teeth’.
According to the media mogul, people will criticize almost anything but those who talk about the new Kumerican trend without any sense of addiction or direction are nothing less than nay-sayers with bad energy.
“Just sometimes when we don’t know what is coming, we shouldn’t kill it with our mouth…we shouldn’t just run it down because it goes against our popular beliefs” he said on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz 103.9 FM.
2020 has been a lot rough than smooth with the coronavirus pandemic still hovering over our heads like a mask and a bandit, but nonetheless we’ve had fun along the way and the Kumerican trend is certainly in the record books.
“The moment it starts and it goes against popular believes or perceptions everybody takes a certain stance against it without looking beyond it” he added.
Admitting that the Kumerican trend has certain foreign trappings that misrepresents our true African values and traditions, Sadiq was quick to point out that, as an industry we don’t have to live in the old era whiles the world is pacing away with trending stuff.
“Yes there are parts of it that are not necessarily desirable but it will birth a whole new movement, particularly with the music element part that may be good for the focus on Kumasi and their artistes”.
“I’m glad that the boys… the Kumerican boys did not pay heed to nay sayers but followed through with their guts” he ended heaping praises on all the Kumasi based musicians who have hoisted the flag unending.
