Many Ghanaian artistes don’t like to pay for beats — Skonti

Ghanaian Producer/Artiste, Skonti, has lamented about Ghanaian artistes refusal to pay for beats. In an interview with Andy Dosty on Tuesday morning of August 17, 2021, he also reiterated that most of his colleague artistes hate to give credits where it’s due.

 

He further lamented about the ill-structured system that doesn’t cater for Music Producers needed in terms of royalty splits and viable returns.

“The name Skonti isn’t even my own name. It’s my Big Brother’s name. Due to resemblance since primary school days most people address me by him. Thus, I needed to drop a self titled album to highlight my name”, he explained to Andy Dosty on radio.

 

It’s a 17-tracked Album. Below is the track list for the entire catalogue.

 

Skonti who has produced classic records for Edem, Samini, Kwaw Kese, Raquel, Trigmatic, just to name a few, was on Daybreak Hitz to promote his new works.

 

“Sweetio” by Raquel featuring Sarkodie and “Girlfirend” by Edem (featuring Raquel) are some notable hits produced by Skonti.
