Mikal Asher drops Official Video for “Mustard Seed”, with Jemere Morgan featured in cameo
The highly anticipated music video for Mikal Asher’s latest single, “Mustard Seed,” is now out and available for viewing on YouTube and various TV stations, including TV XYZ, Shobiz TV, TV Africa, TV3, among others. The audio of “Mustard Seed” will be available on all digital stores starting June 17, 2024.
“Mustard Seed,” a powerful song about faith, marks another remarkable collaboration between Mikal Asher and XLNC Fiifi Selah, following the release of Fiifi Selah’s groundbreaking single “Awaken Souls.” This new single is from Mikal Asher’s upcoming album, “The Mission.”
Mikal Asher, who wrote “Mustard Seed” over 25 years ago during his visit to Ghana, was inspired by the genuine faith and love for God he witnessed among the people. Over the years, the song has evolved, notably with the addition of verses by his daughters, Seraiah Morgan and Aijahnna “AJ” Morgan, who contributed their parts at the ages of 11 and 8, respectively.
The song begins with a quote from Hebrews 11:1, reflecting Mikal Asher’s strong Christian upbringing and his enduring commitment to the values instilled by his parents. “Mustard Seed” is a celebration of these values, emphasizing the importance of understanding and practicing true faith, rather than following religion blindly.
In discussing the inspiration behind “Mustard Seed,” Mikal Asher highlights the importance of knowing and understanding one’s faith. He believes that faith extends beyond religion and is fundamentally about showing love and compassion, principles often overshadowed by the commercial aspects of organized religion.
