MUSIGA: Request from Court to mediate concerns of Elections

Press Release

MUSIGA: Request from Court to mediate concerns of Elections

The Accra Labour court presided over by Justice Ananda Aikens has ruled that the motion brought against the Union, acting president Bessa Simons and vice president Rev. Dr. Thomas Yawson seeking an injunction against MUSIGA’s elections be set aside.

The court has also instructed the plaintiffs to revert to the Arbitration and Disciplinary Committee to resolve the issues raised by the plaintiff to pave the way for the elections. Both parties are to report back to the court on August 9, 2022.

The National Executive Committee of the Union is therefore appealing to all interested parties to bury their differences to resolve any issues impeding the elections. The executive committee would also like to assure MUSIGA members that the Union is absolutely prepared for the elections.

So far, the National Election Committee has met with the Electoral Commission of Ghana in preparation for the elections.

We look forward to your kind attention to this matter. MUSIGA, Together in Rhythm!

I remain,

Yours sincerely,

Bessa Simons,

(Acting President)
