Rising Ghanaian rapper, Black Sherif has opened up about the special relationship he has with his mother, saying she keeps an eye on me.
Speaking to Nana Lyon, host of Drive with the Area Gang in a recent interview, the Kweku the Traveller’ hitmaker said his mother, known as Mariama plays a very important role not just in his private life but also his music career.
He said his mum listens to most of his media interviews, commends him when he does well and corrects when feels he said something inappropriate.
He added that despite his mother’s absolute support for his music career, his mother sometimes expresses worry that he is focusing too much on things related to music at the expense of his education.
“Sometimes she’ll go like what about school when she feels I’m not paying enough attention to it,” Blacko adding that he makes it a point to visit his hometown Konongo regularly.
Touching on how he balances private life with his growing fame, Black Sherif shared that he is very cautious with every decision he makes now.
He said, “I don’t have to fumble with my personal life, and I don’t have to fumble with my business either.”
Speaking on his social life, Black Sherif disclosed if it wasn’t for music, people would rarely see him in town.
Black Sherif has been praised widely in Ghana and beyond for his new song, ‘Kwak the Traveller” which speaks to some of the mistakes and challenges usually faced by the youth.
