The multiple award-winning UK-based Ghanaian singer Danny Lampo has issued a statement saying if he had gotten the attention needed when he released his mega hit “Ebony” we would’ve brought home the Grammy’s
According to him, he believes his song was that good and powerful, which could’ve won the Grammy’s easy if he got a bit more attention. The song got him featured on most of the top charts and got on over 20,000 playlists across the globe.
The “Ebony” song was played so many times on BBC, Capital 1 xtra and also got him on bigger stages in Europe and other parts of the world.
Danny Lampo who doubled as a Footballer, is one of the few Ghanian musicians in the UK doing the most for the motherland. He has worked with Silva stone and also worked with Ghanaian Hollywood actor and producer Danny Erskine on a movie titled “Force” which was shot in the UK. Danny has become a household name in the UK as far as music and football are concerned. He founded Lampo Dynasty, a record label in the UK, which has signed about 3 on the label at the moment.
His contribution to the music industry in the UK is so tremendous that you can’t leave him out when talking about musicians with an impact in the diaspora.
My “Ebony” was the song that really changed the game and opened numerous doors for all of us,” Lampo said. “It gave us the platform to showcase our talents and allowed us to explore other genres of music.

He went on to express his appreciation for the current artists who have been inspired by his work and are continuing to create outstanding music.

After the release of his EP, “African Queen”, Lampo expressed his gratitude for the love and support from fans around the world.

He has won numerous awards in both Ghana and Europe and even got nominated with his song “Ebony” under the category of UK-based Afro pop song of the year.
Not only that, but he performed at the Ghana party in the park 2021 which was organized by Akwaaba UK, where he shared the same stage with some top artistes from Ghana and Nigeria such as Sarkodie, Yaw Tog, Kofi Jamah, Amerado, Darkoo, King Promise among others.
Furthermore, he also worked and connected with some big Ghanaian artists based in the UK like Reggie and Bollie, Stephanie Benson, Star Vicy among others. Danny Lampo released a project called “Make We Enter” which features Kwamz. The song is doing wonders on the global charts.
The UK-based Ghanaian afrobeat, hip-hop artiste performed with legendary Ghanaian dancehall artiste Samini in Leeds. He termed the performance with the Ghanaian dancehall music great as one of his greatest achievements as an artist.
According to him, ” I’ve always loved and wished to be on the same stage with Samini from the very day I started doing music, and it has been a dream come true.”
Danny Lampo is one of the few artistes from Ghana who had a great year in 2020 where he was on almost all the big shows in the UK with some big stars including Grammy award-winning artistes Anthony Hamilton and Tiana Kocher
He is currently touring some parts of Europe as a way of promoting his new Album “African Queen”.
